Prom-Themed Scholarship Aids Students Pursuing a Future in Fashion
Los Angeles, CA (PRWeb) January 29, 2007 -- Many colleges and universities around the United States offer academic and sport-related scholarships, but what about students who are considering non-traditional, creative majors such as Fashion Design or Fashion Merchandising?
FIDM/The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising is reaching out and assisting those high school juniors and seniors who wish to pursue fashion-related degrees. FIDM is giving students the chance to compete for one of two PromAdvice.com scholarships, each valued up to $23,000.
Sponsored by FIDM, PromAdvice.com is an online network for style-savvy teens that shows teens how they may turn their love of all-things Prom into a career in the Fashion, Entertainment, Interior and Graphic Design industries.

Students seeking a degree in Fashion Design are asked to complete a project that requires the student to design a line of five prom dresses. These prom dresses will exhibit the fashion styles of a particular trendy celebrity in their early 20's.
Students seeking a degree in Fashion Merchandising have different project criteria. Each student will create their idea of the ultimate prom retail experience through their own Prom boutique. The plan will include store layout, selecting merchandise to sell in the store, pin-pointing their target audience and creating a promotional marketing plan.
