Born in Zimbabwe to Greek Cypriot parents in 1969, Angelo had the unique opportunity to live and experience Southern Africa as well as the Mediterranean. After discovering his passion for design as a teenager, he studied Fashion in Johannesburg, and London.

Post-education, Angelo returned to his homeland. Working from a small studio in the Botswana bush, Angelo used his skills to teach a group within the local community to hand sew and produce high end couture whom he still supports today for creating part of his ready to wear collection. Angelo regards this as one of his most valued achievements and hopes that the collaboration between New York and Africa will expand much further.

With the decision to take on New York's challenge, Angelo opened his Atelier in Manhattans eclectic East Village in 2000, with little other than his now-legendary store-front window displays as marketing, Angelo's talent and personality have attracted a loyal U.S. client base. His windows have garnered increasing notoriety, from the opportunity to dress Patti LaBelle for the 2002 Grammy Awards to collaboration with LladrĂ³ and the Princess Grace Foundation for charity events.

Angelo finds inspiration in everything from the vibrant landscape of his African roots to the boundless energy of New York. His clothes are passionate: designs alive with texture, shape and form, reveling in their New York, African and Mediterranean influences. His signature line of bias cut, draped silks and beaded pieces is completely hand crafted, often using only one seam. The designs incorporate both fluid and tailored lines and frequently feature deconstructed and asymmetric details. Each piece is a celebration of the female form, a work of art worth collecting and showcasing .The selection of fabrics are natural fibers that are friendly to the environment .Angelo supports and believes strongly in keeping his collections sustainable.

Angelo's designs have caught the eye of many celebrity stylists. His creations have adorned celebrities such as Orfeh, Maria Bello, Eve, Radha Mitchell, Heather Mnuchin, Goldie Hawn, Salma Hayek, *NSYNC, Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs, Jules Asner, Mya ,Gail O'Grady as well as many others.
